The Church School students, parents and teachers began the school year with their first monthly event -- an ice cream social!

After the first day of classes and the Divine Liturgy all of the students, teachers and parents were encouraged by Fr. John to dedicate their lives to Christ this year in their studies, with a reminder that Church School on Sunday mornings is just one portion of what should also be taught at home and through our participation in the liturgical life of the Church.

Special prayers were included in the Divine Liturgy for the students and at the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy everyone involved with Church School was asked to come forward to have "Many Years" sung to them.

Everybody thoroughly enjoyed the Ice Cream Social and had a great time getting to know each other and developing their relationships with one another.

"We are blessed to have several new families attending our parish, and are so grateful for the growing number of youth and the involved parents and supportive educators that come together to make this program so successful for our parish," said Fr. John.
