With hearts full of thanksgiving and joy, we were blessed to welcome His Eminence Archbishop Michael for an archpastoral visitation on July 18–19. His visit filled our parish with prayer, beautiful worship, and the joyful fellowship that reminds us of God's abundant grace. His Eminence presided at Great Vespers on Saturday evening and celebrated the Divine Liturgy on Sunday morning, bringing our parish family together for a truly memorable weekend.
One of the greatest joys of the Divine Liturgy was witnessing the elevation of our beloved pastor, Father Volodymyr Chaikivskyi, to the dignity of Archpriest. This well-deserved recognition honors his faithful priestly ministry, loving pastoral care, and unwavering dedication to Christ and His Church. We rejoiced as a parish family, offering our prayers that the Lord will continue to strengthen and bless Archpriest Volodymyr with many fruitful years of ministry.
Our celebration continued as we witnessed three of our faithful parishioners take an important step in their service to the Church through their tonsure to the rank of Reader:
- Simeon Brasowski
- Silouan (Sami) Bachir
- John (Tyler) Cassidy
Following the ancient tradition of the Orthodox Church, Archbishop Michael tonsured and vested these new Readers, entrusting them with the sacred ministry of proclaiming the Holy Scriptures and assisting in the worship of God's people. It was a beautiful reminder that the Church continues to grow as new servants answer Christ's call with faith and devotion.
Our joy was made even greater as several longtime parishioners received Certificates of Merit (Gramotas) from Archbishop Michael in recognition of their faithful stewardship, generous service, and steadfast commitment over many years. Their love for Christ and for our parish has strengthened our community in countless ways, and it was a blessing to see their dedication publicly honored. Their example continues to inspire future generations to serve God with the same humility and faithfulness.
Following the Divine Liturgy, clergy, parishioners, family members, and friends gathered for a festive fellowship meal filled with gratitude and celebration. Together, we gave thanks for Archbishop Michael's visit, honored our newly elevated Archpriest, rejoiced with our newly tonsured Readers, and congratulated those recognized for their many years of devoted service.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Archpriest Volodymyr Chaikivskyi, Readers Simeon Brasowski, Silouan (Sami) Bachir, John (Tyler) Cassidy, and Nektarios (Manuel) Montiel, along with all those who were honored during this joyful weekend. May our Lord continue to bless each of them abundantly as they labor for His glory and for the building up of His Holy Church.
We are deeply grateful for the many blessings God bestowed upon our parish throughout this memorable weekend, and we look forward with hope and thanksgiving to the years ahead as we continue to worship, serve, and grow together in Christ.
Axios! Many Years!
